I love your experimenting with new formats of the newsletter, it really brings out your creativity. I tried the hypnosis trigramhealing and found you need to have some of the following:

Dedication to the process -35 mins is a longtime

Patience with yourself

Discipline for it to work

A positive mindset in order to be able to relax

Without these components, my mind would've strayed, as 35 mins is a lot of time to find in the morning (which is my best time). It was no doubt a great eye-opener how relaxation aids productivity, not sure if I will continue it on regular, but it is definitely an added relaxation tool to utilise in the future. Thank you!

You are definitely a winner Necole, not sure how I can go without meetings during the day, but we have to find what works for us individually.

That step ladder is a necessity for single women, period!

Thank you as always for your transparency and can't wait to listen to your podcast episodes. As for future newsletter items, I'm just happy to read anything you share, whether, on a personal or productive side, you have a lot to give so please share intuitively what leads you.

This is such a good point and why I'm so thankful for this forum. I interviewed my friend and entrepreneur Kenji for my podcast and his first time meditating he was only able to do so for 3 minutes. He's been doing it every day for three years now and he can go for 3 hours. It's a muscle he had to work and he had to train his brain to be able to relax. For someone that is new to guided meditation, listening to affirmations, hypnosis -- 35 minutes is a long time versus say starting with 5-10 minutes so thank you for pointing that out.

And as a single woman, y'all really let me go most of my adult life without telling me about the step ladder? LOL!!! I am now a professional counter climber.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Oh I also forgot to add a productivity hack I recently discovered. It’s called News Feed Eradicator for Facebook, so for people who have to be on Facebook for work or any other reason, the eradication basically scraps the entire news feed and all you see is beautiful quotes on your TL. So if you go into Facebook via a PC, you do what you need to do and leave without the possible distraction of people’s updates and ads etc. It’s a chrome add on though and only works when you use Facebook via the web and not the app.

Thank you! I am going to try this. The feeds on FB and IG have gotten a bit too noisy and so I spend the least amount of time there so I will try this. I also have Newsify (app and web version) which allows me to read the feeds of all my favorite sites all in one place so I don't have to hop from site to site in the am! Definitely installing the news feed eradicator to give it a spin.

Thank you for the hypnosis suggestion. I’ve been doing a lot of meditations to lift my vibration and clear/calm my thoughts. I’m looking forward to trying the guided hypnosis sessions out.

Also on the format, I really just enjoy the authentic way that the newsletter comes through. It feels like we’re having a chat that happens between my friends and I where we’ll have a chat about one thing and then someone adds a random but really helpful point to the discussion. So it doesn’t feel static - it feels like a conversation.

Thank you Makhostso! When I first started this experiment of dedicating myself to sending them out at least once a week, I told myself as a fellow perfectionist -- they won't be perfect. This is your time to figure out what people like and what they want to see from you and you can perfect it along the way. That's really helped me extend myself grace during this time as I figure my formatting and topics out.

I have a personal trainer 2 times bi- weekly, to keep me focused in gym, and also out the house. I'm a sub teacher. I get home around 3 30 daily, if I'm not running errands . Then lay around or nap till evening ish. Then,do it all over again next day. I incorporated a personal trainer to learn fitness techniques but, also to get me out of my homebody , chill routines.

I enjoy the variety in your newsletters each time. I can't even meditate without falling asleep so I'm not sure how hypnosis would work for me but I think whatever we find that works best we need to stick with it. And I'm looking forward to your podcast.

LOL! Meditation is definitely a lot of training the brain to be still. My therapist wants me to get into meditation because my mind is always going.

That's my problem too. I found napping works to slow mine down a little. Or at least I wake up refreshed.

I loved this post Necole! I have been in therapy for years but never really thought about hypnosis. I have made significant strides in many areas in my life but when you mentioned being comfortable in your femininity my *ears* lol perked up. At 30 that is something I really really want to work on. Thanks for sharing this!

No prob! I just got in contact with black hypnotist and she'll be on one of my podcast episodes. I want her to really break down how it works as well as why it works. She uses it to help her clients get past limiting beliefs so that they can achieve the success they deserve.

Hey Nicole, I'm really interested in hearing more about your experience with hypnosis (not the Youtube version but working with the lady you mentioned in your newsletter).

There is a disconnect I am experiencing that is preventing me from living my ideal reality. I've done a lot of mindset work with affirmations, reiki, subliminals (can't use anymore because the binuaral beats give me a headache), EFT, scripting...you know all the tips and tricks mentioned on the internet streets. So, I'm ready to up level (which includes a long term romantic relationship, exceeding my yearly income goals, and becoming visible through my dream of print modeling and TV commercials (I've worked only for far too long!). In any event, I'd love to hear more about your experiences with the hypnosis coach, and if you have any suggestions on what specifically the type of service I should request from her. Is there a level up service? LOL

Thanks for this forum!

I don't even know you and I know you will achieve all the things you desire this year (romantic love, income goals, modeling dreams). Sometimes our self-limiting beliefs around success, romance or money can block us from manifesting and accepting those things into our lives. For instance, I found out recently I have a huge money block. I've always equated more money with more problems so I didn't want to reach a certain income level due to that belief. I also equated more success with having to sacrifice having a family and kids. Once I was able to identify my belief systems around those things, it helped me do the work so that I could clear those blocks and attract abundance, my husband, and my future kids (I'm still a work in progress lowkey...lol). But I would start there and figure out if there are any blocks or self-limiting beliefs around money or success that could be blocking you from manifesting those things. Once you figure out that block, working with a hypnosis to help shift your mindset around those beliefs so that you can manifest the life you know you deserve

I'm really enjoying reading about the authentic you sans glamourous, on-trend, blah blah blah. I usually feel anxious to read (i.e. get through so I can delete) most of the newsletters I get in email. It's just too much sometime! But each time I've read yours, I feel like it's for real, for real and I always have a take away. You're becoming a friend in my head. LOL! This time, it was the idea of blocking off time first thing to pour into myself. I'd been doing this for the past month or so...but feeling guilty about it. Feel like you gave me permission! LBVS. Also appreciate the coffeehouse music!! Thank you for putting yourself (and your "stuff") out there! You're inspiring others more than you know! :o)

This was an amazing newsletter at the perfect time! I’m still having difficulty remaining productive in a virtual environment. It’s had an effect on my interest in my work and how I do my work. Thank you for these tips on blocking out your calendar and morning workouts (both of which are ones that I’ve been trying to start in 2021🤦🏾‍♀️), and for providing your experience with hypnosis. I’m excited to give these all a try, along with adding coffee house music. I really appreciate these all being simple, tangible ways to make small changes with a big impact in the long run.

Thank you for sharing those links! I've never tried hypnosis before but I feel so unmotivated lately that I'm open to try anything that'll get me out of this funk. Do you think it'll still work if I listen to it while getting ready in the morning, or do I have to be still? Also, I have really enjoyed all of your news letters. You've touched on topics that have really spoken to me, so thank you for being so open.

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for asking. Like meditation, hypnosis is meant to be performed or listened to when the subject is still and relaxed. It’s not recommended while moving however if you want to listen to recordings with subliminals (I used to listen to one that said “I am a great writer”) or affirmations I think that is something you can do while getting ready.

I'm going to try the hypnotherapy links you shared. Thank you!

I'm big on Downtime (within the Screen time settings). I set my phone to lock every app during my work hours. I only allow Spotify, an app called Productivity, and phone/text. Chrome is there but I try to avoid using it. Those are helpful to keep me focused. I also love ChilledCow or any lo-fi beats.

In iPhone, go to Settings > Screen Time > Downtime. I customize my hours to match when I don't want to be bothered (it defaults to overnight, but I set mine to working hours.) Next you can use each of the following to customize:

"Screen Time > Always Allowed" lets you choose the apps you don't want restricted.

"Screen Time > App Limits" lets you set limits for the apps you are using.

I love Downtime. If I want to use an app that shouldn't be opened, a message pops up saying this app isn't available during downtime. You can then choose to open it for 1min, 15min, the entire day, or just close it. It keeps me present with what is consuming my time.

I would strongly suggest that anyone even considering entertaining these ideas out of curiosity or at the suggestion of others, be very careful and be fully aware of what you are doing when attempting any form of hypnosis or going into a trance-state. Tampering with or tapping into your subconscious mind (even for what seems like noble and positive reasons) is not something to play with. It opens yourself up not just mentally, but most importantly--spiritually in ways many are not aware of. Guard your gates at all times.

Hi Deborah! Thank you for your comment. I'm not sure if you are aware, but most of us go into a "trance" state during activities such as watching movies, driving a car (it's the reason why you can end up in your driveway without any recollection of how you've gotten there) and doing simple tasks such as listening to music. If we are to protect our subconscious mind, instead of worrying about these youtube videos, I'd be more worried about embeddable commands that are placed in a lot of the advertising we see, scrolling social media and even the music you listen to. (It's the reason I had to replace my workout music with motivational speeches, audible books and podcasts). I noticed during some workouts I literally would go into the "zone" or a trance like state and I needed whatever messaging I was listening to during that time to be positive.

Every single day, our subconscious mind is intaking messages that aren't favorable. If you truly want to give people the message to not tamper with their subconscious then you'd literally have to tell them to log off all devices.

If this didn't help pull me out of my creative rut (which lasted over 4 months), I wouldn't have suggested it but since it was a technique that has personally helped me (not only recently) but throughout the last 7 years of my life, I decided to mention it. I also used hypnotherapy to break free from the trauma of an incident that happened in my teens.
